Batten down the hatches, break out the ale, and
get earplugs for the children – MentalPause will
be back at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival
for the 2009 season.
Having watched way too many pirate movies
over the last few years, MentalPause decided to
take a short hiatus in 2008 to set out on a pirate
adventure of our own. We set out on the high
seas and looted, pillaged, and plundered our
way to fame and fortune. Not to mention all the
"bootie" we managed to acquire. Schawinggg!
To hide our true identities and avoid a brush
with the law, we decided to travel incognito,
changing our names to better suit our true, inner
pirate. Vicki Kerns, aka Needa H'Ormone was
dubbed Rustoleum, or Rusty, for short. Phyllis
Robinson, aka Jen H'Ormone, was dubbed
Priscilla, or Prissy, for short. And this year, our
newest member is our own baby sister, Kandi
Snavely aka Lucille, or Luce, for short. (By the
way, she didn't need to change her name
because she's always been Luce!)
We're so happy to be returning home to
Canterbury and the Seafarer's Beergarden Stage
in the Pirate Wharf. We've got new stories,
songs, and jokes to tell and we can't wait to see
you all.
